COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ochre coloured top fermented Abbey Beer with an abv of 6.7%. The use of Gatinais barley combined with carefully selected hops creates a perfectly balanced, relatively light tasting beer with a fruity malty taste.

The aroma is heavy with malt, yeast, and alcohol. The appearance is golden with a medium white head. The flavor is very malty with a moderate, odd bitterness. The aftertaste reminds me of cheaper beers. The palate is average. Overall it has good taste but it has some problems as well.

Test vom 24.11.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Nice, fluffy, sticky white head that develops some good latticing. Appearance is mirrored by an equally delicate, fluffy mouthfeel, but checked slightly by some alcohol warmth. Flavor has a huge push of vodka, bookended by a lot of sweetness: candy, maybe some licorice. Overall, a delicate beer on most dimensions, but the alcohol/vodka seems to disrupt it.

Koelschtrinker (6544) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 16, 2011
