3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear golden ale with large head. Sweet malty and citrus dominated aroma. Flavor with notes of wheat and malt. Medium body and good balance in this nice simple abbey beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours thick white head with an orange body. Somewhat fruity smell to it. Fruity and easy tase. Even though it has less alcohol and based off of that estimation I thought it wasn’t a tripel, it still does keep the tripel taste to a large extent. Very light hop presence. Sort of sweetish. I have had much better in this style. The dubbel they make is a whole lot better in my opinion.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2007 The aroma is quite pleasant on this one. The appearance is golden and see-through. The flavour is quite good. The palate is good, and overall this is a good ale, but for a Belgian ale disappointing. It was worth the $12 for a six pack to try it, but I would probably not get it again. It is available in Florida, but not in the backwards-lawed Alabama.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2009 Blonde and bubbly with almost no head. Aroma is apples and spice, but rather mild. Taste is same, with light spice and appley esters in the finish. $3/11.2oz

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap in Paris. Golden body with decent head. little spice & taste.some banana. very boring. almost like the american brewer’s weak attempt at a tripel.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Medium-sized, frothy, white head slowly relaxes atop a clear, light golden hued body. Aroma is full of bananas (almost a baby food quality), pepper, sweet apples, pineapples, honey and peaches. With some warmth, a slight grainy tinge appears. The aroma feels a bit underpowered for a Tripel, but then, the alcohol is far from the normal mark. The flavour is moderately sweet as would be expected, with a light apple-like acidity at the beginning. The finish fades out fairly quickly, sweet and short, lacking the spiciness or brush of alcohol necessary to make it exciting. Medium bodied with lightly tingling carbonation and slick texture. Anyway, this is more of a session blonde than a Tripel in my opinion. I don’t care about that score-wise, though. Never exciting, but easily drinkable. 50cl can, Duvel tulip, bbe 06/08.

Pours huge foam head - disappears quickly. Notes of honey, orange and spices - very nice. Typical bottled fermented aroma. Light mouthfeel. Some malt, complex with some alcohol present. Some sweetness and a short dry finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tripels are odd ducks to me, the fact that they are lighter than dubbels is odd. This one was nice, pale with a thick white head. Bananas in the nose. Palate tasty with some oranges in there.

11th rating of belgian beer club meeting 2. Pours golden yellow with a bright white head. Nose was yeaty with hints of candy sugar. Taste was sweet, yeasty and overall not too bad.
