Ochre coloured top fermented Abbey Beer with an abv of 6.7%. The use of Gatinais barley combined with carefully selected hops creates a perfectly balanced, relatively light tasting beer with a fruity malty taste.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2008 Enjoyed most of the six pack throughout this past weekend, I find this to be a nice easy going Belgian Blonde. Nothing spectacular, but very satisfying and makes for a great transition brew. Sparkling, clear golden-yellow pour with a large white top and blanketing lacing. Small bubbles of steady carbonation. Sweet, musty fruits and a minimal earthy yeastiness are contained in the gentle aroma. Light bodied and airy with a sharp quenching ability. Fresh fruity flavors, mild malts and some faint spicy hop characteristics. Yeasty along with a faint metallic flavor (also evident in their Dubbel that had been previously rated). After sampling a few this beer has finally grown on me, itís rather nice and simple for itís style and thatís what makes it work.

(330 ml bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/augusta/l target=blank>Louís Beverage Barn) Pours clear apricot-amber with one finger of slightly off-white head. Startlingly clear for a Belgian beer. Aroma is yeasty and sweet. Mouthfeel is fairly smooth and maybe a touch syrupy. Flavor is yeasty and moderately sweet, thatís about all there is to say. Maybe finishes a touch hot. Doesnít really pull you in too many directions but decent enough I guess.

A nice introductory Belgian Ale. Golden orange color that pours with a full white head that laces well. Crisp clean flavor with a hint of Black Cherry. A nice drinkable refreshing Blagian.

Pours with a huge white head that dissipates quickly leaving lots of lacing. It is a light orange hue. It smells spicy and of sweet fruits. Tastes of sweet fruits, banana and finishes very clean. The mouthfeel is a bit thin, and very carbonated. It is refreshing and the taste was fairly good so it was pretty easy to drink.

Pours clear gold with a white head. There is absolutely no sediment in this bottle so it is not bottle conditioned. This is also apparent on the flavor profile that is vegetal and bland. The nose yields some hints of what a tripel should have, but really, this was a piss poor example of the style.
