3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma of Belgian yeast, and, I guess, Noble hops. Orange tinged gold color with a white head that rapidly filmed. Medium bodied, with moderate, creamy, carbonation. The flavor starts quite sweet, likely malt and Belgian candi. A small hit of clove. It moves on to light stone fruits, like nectarine, with candi sugar and arguably some banana. The finish is sweet in the front of the mouth, mild bitter in the rear.

Not bad for almost 900 years old. Light and tasty. Flavor more like a wit. On par with Chimay.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Above-average pale with lots of initial head on cloudy yellow, some lace, basic yeasty aroma. Medium mouthfeel, drying aftertaste. Yeast, a tad of fruit in the bannana characteristic. Cloves dominant spice, also salt and white pepper.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle served at cellar temperature. Woe is me and picking out of date beers. Sweet malt aroma, almost dessert white wine like. Looks nice white a creamy white head atop a clean rosey golden body leaving solid lacing. Surupy palate. Toffee sweet flavour with a slight sharp hop note. Not too complex really, very sweet though.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Poured a nice deep golden color with a barrier wall of tiny white bubbles protecting it. The aroma is fruity and yeasty. Nice and subtle balance of flavors present themselves here ... first a bit of spice, then the yeast as it settles, and finally an almost lagery malt base comes through at the very finish. Fine beer, if a bit subdued. (#3041, 7/28/2007)

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma is clovey with a background of citrus and spices. Initial taste is yeasty, clove, and fruity malts. Medium Body. Palate fades well, but not long lasting. Great lacing of the glass.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
golden with quickly disappearing head. very smooth texture, the same hops and fruits as most tripels, but not enough alcohol to make it really good

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dense white head that retains very well and leaves good lacing. The aroma resembles clove, spice and citrus. The yeasty flavours overwhelm this beer, but fruity and floral esters are still appearent. Also, there is a bit of lemon citrus. Slightly metallic. The carbonation was not as much of a CO2 bomb as other abbeys and the body was a bit thin. Spritzy. Not enough alcohol for a tripple. Pretty expensive stuff at $12 a six pack.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle -- Large white head with good retetion and good lacing. Rich honey colour. Quite light aroma with citrus and spices. Medium palate with average carbonation. Flavour is a lot like a witbier with quite a bit of citrus and spice. Not a lot of alcohol warmth considering. Not at all bad but too expensive in Oz.
