2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
In the extremely posh Waterhead Hotel, Ambleside. More of a wine establishment, this was their only classy beer. Blonde in colour, aroma spicy candy sugar. No yeast. Reasonably refreshing but could use bottle conditioning and perhaps some hops?

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
By the bottle at 3 Ducks Hostel, 15e, Paris. Delicious, lemony, but maybe a tad bitter? Like the brand and the taste. But I’d lean toward something else for consistent drinking.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 26, 2005 Bottle: The aroma to me was very pear/applesque. A deep gold color. With a signifgant head to it. I was suprised by the carbination (in appearence) although it wasn’t as noticable in the mouth. Has a very strong sweet malty taste.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Lightly sweet, fruity aroma, floral and faintly honeyish with background spicy notes and hints of pear. Medium golden color with a fine, frothy white head and thick lacing. Flavor profile is sweet throughout, some white grape and lightly citric fruit to be found and possessing a gently bitter, spicy, peppery hop finish. Mouthfeel is thin and very lightly acidic with a medium body. Seemingly quite appropriate for the season.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Huge, white head. Lots of malt, lots of sweetness, but not really cloying though. Rather light body for such a strong beer. Very smooth and easy to drink. 150493

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Unlike some others in the Grimbergen series that are great artisan-clones, the blonde seems little more than the average yeasty wheat beer. Still ok.
