Draught: My first beer on my BelgianBeerTour2004. Orange/golden coloured. Off white lasting and huge head. Is yeasty, sweet and malty in the nose. Some yeast, fruit and malt in the flavour. Notes of spices. Has a dry citrus finish. Nice starter.

Bottle... Hazy, golden ale with a large, frothy, off-white head. Good retention. Spicy, fruity aroma. Well-balanced, tangy flavor with apricot and coriander. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Spicy, dry finish.

Bottled, 330ml. Gold to brown with white head, floaters. Pretty sweet straight from the off, with a spiced and fruity body, possibly over spiced for me. Yeasty, malty but there is a certain lack of depth. Had many better Abbey Tripels.

A Mes rate: Malty and hoppy nose with some cookies and cream.Darkish blonde appearance with good head retention and pretty heavy lacing. Palate is good. A fairly chunky mouthfeel for a blonde. A good spicy and creamy finish. A decent beer.

A pretty OK blonde abbey beer, for a mass produced commercial product, with yeast, fruit and a whopping hit of alcohol, but a little sweet on the finish for my taste. Bottle. Incidentally, seems to be bottled at various strengths - I have seen it in the UK at 7% and in Belgium at 6%

Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 16, 2011
Test vom 17.2.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,11,13,14,12,12 - 12,10
