Double has undergone two fermentations, which gives this ale a chocolatey, toffee taste with a warming brandy-like finish.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2007 A deep rich amber color, like a dark brandy with a wispy head. Crisp clean taste with a slightly sweet finish.

Bottle. Brown and cloudy. Caramel and very yeasty with some nice dried fruit in there also, but the yeast is a bit much. It is not fantastic.

30cl bottle. Pours dark amber with a thin white head. Very floral aroma with notes of fruit. Sweet taste with no bitterness and a slight flavor of alcohol. Overall a very nice beer though a little sweet for my taste.

Bottled. Poured amber with a light brown head. Aroma was yeast, sour funkiness, and some barn yard action too. Flavor was yeast, malts, bread, and a few weaker toasted notes. Solid body.

Pours a reasonably dark ruby brown. The head is a little frothy beige. The aroma is a little subdued. A little sweet, some fruit, some must. The flavor is a mellow fruit, not too impressive, some alcohol, and a little must. I’ve had better.

The color was medium ruby brown. The head was creamy, light biege, and laced. The aroma was dark fruit , sweet malt, and chocolate. The flavor was sweet malt, a kind of rootbeer taste, and some hops. The palate was lively. The finish was warm but not as long-lasting as i would have liked.

Rich brown, quickly dissipating head.Slightly metallic bitter aroma, but also sweet and fruity. Lively in the mouth. Nice aspect of the taste include a raisiny sweetness and both richly roasted ans sweet notes of malt, but alas that’s overshadowed by a thinness, too harsh alcohol, sickly sweetness, and something quite metallic. Falls far short of the better dubbels.

Eww, sour aroma. Watery palate, positively thin, almost fizzy too. Unpleasant messy roasted malt taste. Only positive is that the alcohol’s hidden. However, I’d not even think about drinking enough of this to get drunk, as it’s so unpleasant.
Unwanted rerate: Tap (Belmontas, Vilnius)) (7:4:5+:3+:11+=3.0+++)
Super sweet raisiny berry aroma, fruitcakey, hedonistically very nice, if a bit bizarre in its caricature. Tastes like a typical boring belgian brune - bready sweet, a bit yeasty, yet also cleanish. Reminds me of a softer sweeter version of the tongerlo I used to have in the Daily News at 7am. Before food, this was quite full. After food, it seems weak.

Bottle. Clear brown colour with large creamy off-white mostly lasting head. Fruity aroma with notes of chocolate. Sweet spicy flavor. Oily palate.

Dark copper brown color. Some raisin and yeast in the aroma. Red fruit flavors and nice malt. Would look for a little more sweetness but this one is ok.

Dark brown colour. A strong Belgian beer, but not that strong. So easy to drink. Good looking, though.
