Double has undergone two fermentations, which gives this ale a chocolatey, toffee taste with a warming brandy-like finish.

It is quite like roasted toast. There’s much of sharp carbonation. Taste is a bit bitter at least in the end, so it’s not so nice.

Raw malty nose, light copper brown colour, good combo of malt and hops, malt wins though. Palate rather short and simple. Overall .. forgettable.

Bouteille 330ml.

Bottle: Aroma: Fig/ Sweet/ Alcohol. Flavor : Thick, full bodied with overwhelmingly sweet brown sugar/ fig taste. Tastes as if you are drinking a light version of maple syrup straight from the bottle. I might consider pouring this over my pancakes in the morning.

330ml bottle pours a brownish amber color with a 2 finger off-white head that settles down and leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is kind of funky with some dark fruits and caramel. Taste is a malty sweetness with a herbal hop bitterness that is a little unpleasant. The appearance is definitely the best quality of this brew. Just not enjoyable.

Pours a maple surup brown with a thin off-white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is spicy and malty and feels nice overall but a bit artificial at times. Taste is medium bitter with not much bitterness. Mouthfeel is really light and far from hearty. Flavors are spicy and not so malty (fuck glucose syrup!) with a watery feeling overall. Drinkable but not that enjoyable...

Bottle. Exp. 05-2013. Head: beige, medium, creamy and frothy, avg. retention. Colour: deep red-brown, clear. Aroma: pretty weak, dried fruit, bit of caramel, a tiny bit of barnyard. Taste: dried fruit, roast with a sweet-and-acidic medicine-like finish. Feels like it has some artificial flavourings.

Bière-Luc (298) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 7, 2013

Bottle 330ml. Pours deep amber/reddish with high sparkling beige head. Good lacing. Aroma is of malt, yeast, acidity/mineral stuff. Not awesome at all. Some fruits. Taste is of malt, sugar, yeast, minerals, fruits. Sligth bitterness. Palate: Ligth-medium body. Somewhat sticky. Overall: Not that bad, but... The glucose syrup is pretty obvious. Not a high quality beer.
