0.5L, on tap at Fontaine Delisnack (Briaana Iela, Riga, Latvia). Scentless at first, medium malt after warming up a bit. Pours dark brown with no head. Light in flavor, frothy, and slightly harsh. Decent.

01-20-2015 - One of the many Grimbergen beers. This one is certainly a good one to start with.

Pours a rich dark amber, nearly opaque with little to no head. Aroma includes rich malty notes of chocolate, coffee, and some darker fruity esters. Tasting notes include roasted grain, chocolate, fruity esters, and some pleasant butterscotch diacetyls. Not bad!

Bottle. Pours an almost amber-brown colour. Aroma hits strongly with caramel, syrup - generally very sweet. Flavour is fruity, chocolate, citrus with a roasty hint without either taking out the balance. Very light mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Good.

26.12.2013. Tumman punainen, tuoksussa karamellia. Karamellimaltainen maku, jossa mukana rusinaa/karpaloa? Miellyttävällä tavalla makea. Jälkimaussa rusina tai joku vastaava. Mukava ja helppo.

Clear brown color with reddish hue, big tan head. Lots of lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel and slightly fruity. Taste of grape, yeast, dark fruits, malt, caramel. Medium body, flat carbonation. OK, I guess, but really nothing special.

6-pack from the LCBO. Pours a real dark amber colour, going on the copper side. Big beige head that has good stay and full lacing. Aromas of caramel malts, bad grassy hops which gives out metallic notes and decent helpful spices. The taste is completely not was expected for a dubbed. Very sweet with not much at all. Reminds me of those sweet non-alcohol brews with bread malts, honey and club soda. Then I read the ingredients. Glucose syrup and aromatic caramel. Nope, not for me. Looks good, smell alright but taste right down nasty. An insult to use the word Abbaye with this one.
