Snifter. Very smooth and rich, never bitter. Chocolate toffee present, but almost a grape juice flavor.

Van de tap. Mooi donker bier met een stevige schuimkop. Fijn afgestemde smaak met een licht bittertje. Erg goed Door drinkbaar.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A lower end double. I like their tripel, but this beer is avg at best. Aroma is very weak, hint of caramel. Color is a deep amber, nothing special. Taste is very mild, with a bit if caramel, malts. Palate is a bit spicy abd watery. Mildy bitter, medium dryness. Overall its drinkable, but below average.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle @ home. Dark brown body and a large offwhite creamy lasting head. Aroma of roasted malt, fruits, raisins, plums. The taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter. Sticky texture.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Some hoppy notes mix with hints of roasted coffee beans and a very present caramel sweetness. Besides this you’ll get some spicy notes and a long dry hop finish.
This is what I would call an average mass produced special beer. Not bad, but certainly not special either…

Beautiful brown color with a medium brown head. Dark dried fruit aroma with a hint of marzipan. Malty with notes of toffee, dark fruits and nuts. Mild sweetness. Moderate to low carbonation. Medium bodied. Long sweet malty finish. Very pleasant quaffing beer.

Tried in bottle in Brussels. Tasty beer with good colour and flavour but not the top Belgian dark beer
