A 0.33 l bottle that poured a clear, dark copper-brown body with a smaller head. Weak aroma, light cornflakes and caramel. Flavor was lightly sweet and even less bitter. Roasted malt dominated, touch of caramel, coffee, raisins, lightly metallic and alcoholic. Medium bodied with moderately long finish where metal still could be felt, besides the dog food malt that reminded on "malta" drinks (unfermented). Not my type. Thought this one could be fine, when I first had it a couple of years back, but it turned out to be another boring macro attempt on abbey ales.

Not a very strong aroma, but what came through was nice: creamy taffy, prunes, and grains. Rich fruity flavor with some prune notes, quite sweet and malty some acidity keeps in from being cloying. Has a bit of bitterness in the end. Not too bad, but lack the complexity i like to have in the style.

Aus der Flasche getrunken (aus Händlerlieferung). Braunkupfern im Glas mit beigem Schaum. Frische in der Nase. Süße Malzigkeit im Mund. Typischer "Dubbel"-Körper, ohne Übertreibungen.
