On tap. Ruby-like body, with a low creamy white head that stays until I finish my beer. No actual smell at the start, alcoholic aroma as the beer gets warmer. Medium bitter taste, medium bitter aftertaste. Very smooth texture, medium to heavy body, low carbonation level. Really doesn’t resemble the style.

33 cl bottle. Points beautiful dark amber with small head. Aroma and flavor is full of dried fruit, especially raisins, and some toffee/chocolate. Some bitterness in finish. A bit overly sweet for my liking, but a well composed brew nevertheless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. Pours a clear reddish brown with a huge tan head that slowly fades, leaving excellent lacing. Nose is toffee and chocolate. Taste is dark malt, toffee, and chocolate, with a creamy mouth fell. Finish is long, with a brandy-like taste. Very good.

This was poured into a chalice. The appearance was a nice looking dark amber to brown color with a half finger white foamy head that dissipated rather quickly. The lacing was fairly light. The smell had a good amount of spiced apple, light dates and plums. There was a decent earthy sweetness over and under throughout. The taste had a decent sweet to spicy conglomeration of sorts which lead to the same sort of aftertaste with a slight toffee added in there. The finish was slightly dry. On the palate, this one sits about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionable aspect about it. The carbonation seems about moderately appropriate. Overall, for the most part, this was a good Dubbel worthy of having again.

Nøttebrun farge med et hvit såpeaktig skum som raskt la seg som en ring. Søtlig aroma av malt, frukt, gjær og sukker. Smaken følger aroma med en fin ettersmak og medium fylde.

Draft at Abbey. Pours a dark ruby brown with a fizzy off white head. Tastes sweet, with light raisin, roasted grains, malty, hint of burnt toast and bitterness. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like roasted malt, light sweetness, hints of dried fruits.
