Brewed in Strasbourg for Alken-Maes, distribution unclear. Spiced.

Grimbergen Blanche is a true wheat beer in the most traditional sense. The pale yellow Blanche is cloudy, just as you would expect from a wheat beer. Notes of citrus and light carbonation add character to the creamy palate and make Blanche an excellent thirst quencher.

Bottle 0.33L. Hazy yellow body with an average, frothy, white head, mostly diminishing with some lacing though. Light-to-moderate malty (cereal) and moderate hoppy (orange) aroma with some notes of spices. Moderate sweet flavour with spicy notes and maybe light sourness. Light-to-medium body with watery-to-oily texture; average carbonation; light astringency in the finish.

From bottle, in Irish pub Cafe Escocia in Zaragoza. Hazy light yellow coloured, with a sparkling white head. Nose is coriander, wheat, bit of spices. Flavour is wheat, coriander, spices, bit soapy, fairly sweet. Can be refreshing.

Just off white short lived layer. Hazy yellow golden grey body. Aroma; sweet malts, berries, lemon, citric hops, lemongrass, bouquet of spices. Taste; wheat malts, sweet citric hops, coriander, clove, ginger, cinnamon, coffee, chocolate, Normal on palate, lively carbonated. Finishes fruity, still fresh. Overall likeable brew which makes a kind of standard for witbiers. [33cl br bottle 6%abv BB11.14]

On tap in Paris. Light golden colored, hazy with a minimal fast vanishing head. The aroma is dominated by citrus with some wheat. The taste is sour with citrus and slightly fruity wheat flavors in the finish. The light body with soft carbonation and the thin texture makes it a good thirst quencher. Overall, however, just an average wit.

Bière blanche pour le grand public. A boire si on a vraiment très soif. Aucun intérêt.

Keg @ L’Oxford, Nice. Hazy straw colour with a thin bubbly head. Has a good wit character with a lemon aroma. Has a drier taste of the fruit.

Bottle, BBE 01/15. Pours a slightly hazy, hale yellow with a rather small blanket of white foam. Well, not even a blanket really. Aroma is rather sweet with lemon, coriander and peach. Taste is lightly sour, fairly sweet, lemon and coriander, some bubblegum, light wheat. Rather fruity, a bit watery. Rather thin with medium carbonation. Surprisingly thin for something this strong. I guess it’s due to the syrup and sugar.

Draught at Le Glacier, Limoges on 24 August. Poured a cloudy ochre colour, with a large, dense white head. Aroma of bread, cloves and peaches. Rich fruit flavours, with some candy sugar and wheat. Finish was yeast, banana and soft fruit.
