Amber beer with a virtually no head. Alcohol and liquorish aroma. Sweet, fruity and surprisingly complex. The alcohol is obvious but doesn’t seem to punch at a 10% level.

Bright brown sugary colour. Aroma of peach, dates and brown sugar. The body is thin and simple for a beer this size. Only a slght hint of alcohol. Soft dark fruit notes. Too sweet and one-dimensional. Less than the sum of its parts, and that’s due to lack of bottleconditioning.

Coloração marrom avermelhada e turva. Creme bege, ótimo. Notas de caramelo, laranja e possivelmente vinho. Licorosa. Levemente amarga. Muito bem balanceada. Carbonatação baixa. Muito boa!

Bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a huge off-white bubbly head that lasts well and laces - inviting. Nose is very toffee malt with some sweet slight lemon spice and clean alcohol, touch of cherry and dark fruit, vinous touch. Mouth is lovely and thick, alcohol disguised well, vinous and malty, very warm. Continues warmness into the palate, with just a hint of hoppiness and florality at the very end of the tongue. A yeasty taste remains, which is not all that bad. All in all, an excellent beer.

Bottle, march 07, shared with Jbrus. Very strong, winey, alcoholic aroma with a nice toffee touch. Nice warming, fruity, red wine flavor and a dry, refreshing feeling. Medium MF, dry with a bit astringent ending. Very quaffable for a 10% brew. Color is a shinny burgundy with some red hues and a thin beige head. Very nice winter warmer.

33 cl bottle. Pours brown with little off white head. Aroma is malt and classical belgian yeast. Taste is malty, slight metallic and strong alcohol notes blended with fruity wineous notes

Very dark amber with a beige head. Sweet malty, spicy aroma rather like an alcoholic chocolate gateau: an absolutely wonderful introduction. Does any other beer have such a delectable aroma? The taste had to be a slight disappointment after that. It was almost cloyingly sweet with caramel, dark fruits and plums. The sharp bitterness nearly saved it.

Bottle, 33 cl. Taste yesterday again (was long ago) at ’t Straetje zonder ende. Dark brown with red tint, head was beige and creamy. Aroma: malts, fruits ?Sweet taste of spice and caramel, a little bitter aftertaste. Not so great beer, if you ask me.
