Forget lacing - a practical fortress of malt envelopes the glass. Nose of walnuts, brown sugar, orange, oak, grass and spices. Taste to match with a punch of alcohol. Very similar to spiced rum. Long, sharp cheese finish with sweet top notes. Amazing stuff! faroeviking (6128), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 12, 2007 The pour reveals a clear brown color with a thick, diminishing, offwhite head. Interesting aroma of raisins, dates with toasted malt, smells a lot like a fruit cake. Good flavor of raisins, dates and toasted malt with a sweet finish. The body has a light to medium thickness with a liquorous texture and moderate carbonation. An interesting beer, I think that Optimo Bruno has seen better days but it’s still an enjoyable beer. bu11zeye (5731), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 1, 2007 Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, small beige head. Aroma is raisins, malts and yeast. Flavour caramel malts, alcohol and some yeasty notes. The alcohol is hidden quite well, but has a little "stingy peak", which does fit in well with the flavour.
