Jun 21, 2006 Updated: Jun 1, 2007Gust of marmite-sodden yeastiness from beneath the freshly-prised cap. An aroma that should be awarded an ABV. Marmite AND strawberries?? Apparently so. Deep red resolving into a swirly beige scum, clumped with dense patches of foam. Sweet malty strawberry finishing with a pleasing lactose-stouty sourness (Mackeson?). Yep, incredibly, that’s what it reminds me of. Lovely stuff, but should be illegal. (Re-rate 01/06/07 Odd but not unpleasant balsamic chip shop batter nose. Orange, liquorice, brown sugar. Stirred with a Twiglet. Good, but nothing like as good as it seemed a year ago.

Jun 9, 2006 This beer has a dark brown body - hue apperance and a fine light brown scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the a bottle and it had a no carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is very sweet with a light bitter afther tast.

Apr 12, 2006 very dark color, thin head, full aroma of caramel, nuts, chocolate, coffee, very sweet and lots of alcohol.

Mar 13, 2006 330 ml bottle. Average white head. Coarse bubbles. Dark brown color with a red hue. Sugary caramel aroma. Surprisingly little aroma. Flavour is very sweet with notes of raisins, candy sugar and figs. Alcohol is dominating the palate. Complex flavours, but a tad too sweet.

Mar 11, 2006 (Bottle at Belgobaren, Stockholm) Nice amber color with a lasting offwhite head. Aroma is mailky, creamy with toffee and vanilla. ALso sourish with notes of juniper berries and a bit vinous. Sourish flavor, vinous and a bit strong. Fruity from grapes. Quite mild finish and with alcohol well hidden. Different for being a dark belgian, but still good.

Jan 10, 2006 I have to say i was expecting something of a quad here. Sweet malt aroma. A different to usual taste, cant quite figure out what though, a bit syrupy.
