Jul 16, 2004 Fruity aroma. Sour cherry, apple cider, grape juice - reminiscent of a Flemish sour ale. Brownish-cranberry clear with off-white lacing head. Medium body with soft carbonation. Starts rather sweet, considering the tang of the aroma. Light malts, Belgian profile, warming. Some raisin, plum, and cider. Little musk. Finish and after are sweet, almost cloying. Not much bitter to counteract.

Jun 28, 2004 Bottled. Clear, cherry-wood colour with a large white head. Viscous consistency. Sweet, nutty, dry aroma. Marty D, says it smells like smoked bacon. Some vinous qualities in there as well. Heavy hitter though and quite a beer to take on at the end of the evening.

Apr 7, 2004 Amber colour with nice creamy head. Aroma is sweet with malt and alcohol. Flavor is sweet with with fruit, spices and good malt, quite a bit port flavor in this beer.

Mar 21, 2004 Dark red/brown in colour. Aromas are sweet biscuity malts with winter fruit, spices and alcohol. Flavours are also fruity malts along with xmas pud flavours and brandy. A warming and boozy nightcap. Great name, too.

Oct 9, 2003 Beautiful amber color; generous, creamy head. Intense aroma: malt, caramel, brown sugar, banana, orange peel. Very strong body, well bearing the alcohol content, warming. Round and malty, sweet in the front; orange peels and caramel, light liquorice. Would be perfect with some more fruitness (easier to find in the English Ales) and a more bitter final.
