3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at the ChrisO Snow Tasting, London - one of my contributions!!! Pours clearish, brown-red with a fine, creamy tan cap. Sugary brown bread in the nose. Big sweet flavor, simple, with semi-dark malts, brown sugar, toffee. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming finish with more sugary brown bread. Simple stuff on the whole.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
750ml bottle (Snow@ChrisO)
Old, aged, papery aroma. Flat. Papery palate and taste. Dull. No hint of 7%, but still not a very good beer. Sticky and mashy and malty.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thick-set light-brown head over cola-coloured beer. Initial strange, acetic-sourish nose, thinning and reverting to both cola-like and sweet molasses odours, bready, coloured malts. Again pretty sourish in the flavour, if more lactic-like; then classic sweet & bready, melanoidin flavours. Sticky, medium to well-bodied. Strange sourness keeps popping up, even in the MF, thinning the texture after all. I agree it might do well with roasts, as the label suggests. But as such...

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Delhaize, Oostende, Belgium, 19.12.11 consumed at home 28.12.11 Pours dark brown with a frothy light beige head, soft in mouth and malty with a little warmth, touch clinical in that it is very safe, clean and unexciting but it is fine. Yeasty with some caramel and a little watery dark fruitiness and dark sugar. Ok. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle at ChrisO Snow Tasting, thanks to Leighton. It pours deep ruby-brown with a small off-white head. The nose is candy cane, caramel, wood, spice and earth. The taste is wood, earth, spice, candy, cola, leather, orange peel, tinned peach, plum, prune and raisin, with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Perhaps a bit thin for the style and fairly unexciting.
