3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 fiulijn (10421) - Como, ITALY - OCT 3, 2003
Golden color; nice perlage and magnificent head, giant and creamy. Malt aroma, citrus fruits, bread, spices; a fresh garden. Some malt flavor, some sweetness, very light liquorice, alcohol touch. Ordinary final. Easy to drink, but not outstanding.

very light and fresh sugar/orange aroma, cloudy bronze hue with a big frothy head, there are a few floaters, spicey orange flavour, strong and firm bodied, long spicy finish.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 JorisPPattyn (6730) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 12, 2003
Yellow with amber shine. Creamy white head. Champenoise pearling, lacey. Nose with white sugar, grain, flowery, sugar syrup. Syrupy taste, scorched sugar with bitterish-metallic tang. Maize or corn-syrup? Very obvious carbonation, with sourish CO2-character. Medium-bodied. One of the lesser tripels. The metallic, schorched taste is unforgivable. Do they WANT a bad name?
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 RichardGretton (3759) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2003
Light blonde ale a with a constant frothy head. Fruity alcoholic aroma and a dense fruity alcoholic flavour that has a very bitter finish. A good Belgian triple.

Orangey and citrus nose. Golden hue with the obligatary massive head. Orangey and spicey tones with hints of cognac. Fantastic stuff.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Linc (736) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JUN 21, 2003
Aroma of apples and black pepper. Brilliantly clear red/gold colour with fine white head and tiny bubbles. Has a little honey and apricots in the flavour but the yeast brings out perhaps a little too much bite. Clean acidic finish, excellent mouthfeel. Could have been a lot better if it had a more balanced flavour.

Large white head that slowly diminishes. Darkish golden body. Aroma; flowers, slightly acidic, yeast. Taste; fresh, slightly acidic, hint of pepper, bitter finish. Nice.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Sigmund (3713) - Hafrsfjord, NORWAY - JUN 1, 2003
(33 cl bottle). Golden beer with a slight yeast haziness, large head. Very weak initial aroma, improves as the beer warms up - I get caramel, oak, honey and apricot. Very sweet fruity and honeylike flavour, next to cloying, low bitterness - a dessert beer, I'd say. Overall I'm a bit disappointed with this one, you expect more from the Belgians.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ungstrup (23975) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 22, 2003
An unclear dark orange beer with a fine but fast disappearing head. The aroma is very sweet and slightly fruity. the flavor is sweet, sligthly metallic, and fruity with notes of oranges and other fruits. A really complex beer - especially for a triple. There is no hint of the alcohol content - but no bitterness either - but it still has a nice balance.

Bottle. Hazy copper color with an off-white head. A sweet candy, caramel, apple, brown sugar, coating flavor that is soft and zesty.
