3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 leaparsons (6329) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2004
Light gold in colour with a large white head. Aromas are grain, spice, sugar and some bubblegum. Flavours are sweet and spicy with bubblegum (again). Flavours are pretty mellow, but this has a nice sparkle and the alcohol isn't in your face.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 FatPhil (6210) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - APR 27, 2009
330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Pale gold, fizzy then scummy head. Aroma like soup. Some pulses in there, and corn too. Pleasant carbonation, and plenty of lively fruity esters, some quite heavy such as melon, head up the nose.Fairly thin body, but a decent light-grain backdrop supports some quite biting hops. More blonde than tripel, as it actually covers the alcohol pretty well. However, there’s a touch of glue (ethyl acetate) in it instead, which detracts from the tastier parts. Hops were nice, but the rest was a let-down.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Sammy (6125) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 15, 2004
A smooth balanced triple that went excellently with heavy stew. Not strongly yeasty, it was not too hoppy, nor too spicey, which was appreciated by the tongue. Warming and clean finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Cletus (6063) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 20, 2009
Pours gold with a large white head. Smells of ginger, perfumy, floral, dry hops, some residual sugar. Tastes semi sweet and perfumy with some nice grassy hints and a touch of pepper on the finish.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 5, 2005
Clearn golden, gentle white cover develops an interesting foamy aspect. Appealing wet hay capts my attention in the aroma while oatmeal and wet cereals lose some. Nevertheless, what stands out is an abundant yeastiness. Well contained alcohol in there and surprisingly good for a mass production tripel. Hoppy finish, hay-like and cerealic. The texture dominates the flavor in my mind. It gets pretty dry, but the yeast component certainly comes in front of any malt or hops. Nice mouthfeel as well, creamy and expanding through a high carbonation level.

Another superb beer from the Grimbergen family of beers. You can see right through this beer, but it is good. Fruity(citrus) aroma and flavor. Malt is great and hops are barely there. Nice.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Fin (5749) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 2, 2007
Bottle, and understandably the last of the three Grimbergens tried, I had them before but never rated so wanted to go back and revisit. Poured a warm golden colour with a slight haziness to it. The increase in alcohol over the other two Grimbergens was quite evident even just on the aroma, but like the others there was a definate yeast and maltiness detected on the nose. Taste was altogether more complex and interesting that it’s stablemates but the alcohol was always lingering in the background, really good chewyness, and fruitiness to this beer some nice burnt toffee notes maybe, but very nice easily attainable beer.
