it’s a winterbeer, so as usual it has a sweet aroma , were I can remark some touches of cranberry. Also sweetness in the taste, and because of that and the low alcohol, I almost don’t recognize the real taste of beer anymore. Nevertheless it’s a good and ’warm’ beer, cozy to drink in the evening with friends or family.

Donkerbruin bier met schuim. Smaak is licht bitter en zoet, caramel, anijs en rokerig. Zaker niet slecht en heel goed drinkbaar maar ook niet heel bijzonder. Blijft redelijk lang hangen.

Christmas Grimbergen since 2013. Coarse, sticky, off-white head, colour a warm, ’autumn-like’ bronze with copper hue, clear. Sweet aroma of pear, candi syrup, dates, chocolate, raisins, almond, soap as well as faint solvents and a pasteurized, cooked smell. Sweetish taste, caramel, candi, mellow mouthfeel with relatively low carbonation, nutty malts, some spicy notes, grassy hoppy finish with a light coffee-like roastedness but otherwise short and even a bit watery. Typical mass-market beer and cliché as this is clearly Scotch-inspired, like many dark Belgian Christmas ales.

Deep ruby color. Nice floral, nutty, belgian spice aromas. medium body. Toasty, nutty grain flavors with spicy caramel--not bad.

Bottle 33cl, nose is on belgian yeast. Aroma is near a belgian dubbel but with a kind of industrial caramel in it, low complexity, sweet, light alcohol touch, quite basic.
