BEES IN THE TRAPPE is a strong, elegant Belgian-style ale brewed with a trappist ale yeast and clover honey. Pale orange in color, it pours with a rocky, snow-white head. Significant carbonation lifts delicate aromas from the glass: tart apricot, raw honey, cinnamon bark, and a hint of alcohol. The flavor follows the aroma, adding crisp malt reminiscent of honey-drizzled toast. Bees In The Trappe is light in body for its strength and finishes long and dry.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a moderate white head that lasted through the first two sips and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of malt, honey, flowers, and Belgian yeast that has a bit of spice to it. The flavor is similar with malt, honey, and some fruitiness and spice from the Belgian yeast. Mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied. Solid.

Serving: bottle. Nice amber pour with the slightest of haze and a pillowy white head. The nose has a bit of sweetness to it. Light honeysuckle and grain. The flavor has a touch of yeast, light honey, and a bit of honeycomb cereal. One the sweet side with a slick mouthfeel. Light to medium body. Decent.

(bottle - 22 oz) Cloudy gold with a fluffy head. Aroma is dominated by malts, spice and honey sweetness, but like the honey cough drops. Flavor is spicy and yeasty at the start with a sweet but medicinal honey middle and a bitter finish. Not quite sure about the flavor.

Light but flavorful. The honey shines through in this one. Light golden yellow with little head.

Bottle release number 2 bottled on September 5, 2013. Pour has a golden color with a cap of white head that held a pillow. Aroma has honey, grain, flowers, banana yeast, and honeysuckle. Mouth feel is medium with some honey coating and medium low carbonation. Flavor works out to be very smooth, honey, clover, lightly floral, with complementing Belgian yeast. I am very impressed with this and will look out for more from these guys!

Draft at proletariat. Pours yellow orange with puffy head. Nose is faint bubblegum and yeast. Tastes of bubblegum, honey, yeast, light citrus, and touch flowery. Medium bodied and sticky on back of throat.

The Sampler, Brooklyn 650ml: Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is honey, and plenty of it; Belgian yeast, ample amounts of course; and plenty of fruitiness. Taste is really honey forward, but it blends well with the well enough with the tripel backbone. Good, but not the best I’ve seen from Grimm.
