draft. sticky and chewy banana with heavy apple and pear notes. syrupy and rough malt with equally rough carbonation and an an acidic bite late. in no way resembles biere de garde, and seems more like a sticky and sugary caramel malt bomb top fermented vienna. rough texture and chewy melanoidin malt dominates.?cherry and pits and syrup with marmalade and acetone character. ugh.

On tap at Grimm Brothers. Deep orange pour with a slim off white head. Yeast profile nose with esters and light phenols. Med body with banana, light citrus, light apple and caramel malts. Sweet finish with light fruit notes.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, biscuit, some slight other grain, hints of toffee and molasses, dark sugary smelling beer. Taste is similar with some slight herbal and biscuit notes, lots of caramel and toffee, but something didn’t balance quite right and I got a slight burning and chemical note.

Tap @ new tasting room. A touch hazy, dark orange appearance with a cream colored head. Dull soapy/floral aroma with some toasted grains but honestly, not much going on in the nose. Toasty, nutty malty, very mild citrusy, cracker, biscuity flavor. Fuck, is this Funkwerks’ Mon Tresor’s twin brother? Not a fan.
