COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Once upon a time in the land of Bavaria, a darkness fell upon the beer in the town of Munich. But have no fear – this darkness was born of a toasted malt that produces a bready chocolate flavor. This full-bodied brew is now known as a Munich Dunkel. Our dunkel is made with just enough hoppy bitterness to scare away any overt sweetness. Then it is carefully lagered to produce a cleaness that no one will shudder at.

A dry, crisp and medium-bodied Dunkel with nice roasted malt notes. It tastes particularly clean and "well-made", which I find difficult to describe.

Dark brown coloured body with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, pears, apples, caramel and quite a bit of vanilla. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive peanut and hazelnut flavour throughout with a little emphasis on the roasted malt and the caramel sweetness. No hops at all to speak of. Aftertaste is a good showing of the nuts and sweetness with not much malt nor vanilla popping through at all. Overall, a nice dunkles with some solid sweetness, but a lot of nutty flavours as well. I sampled this pint on draught at a bar in Littleton, Colorado on 06-June-2014 with haddon90!

On tap at the Colorado Room. Appearance: finger khaki head, soapy, copper to light brown color, clear, ok lacing. Aroma: molasses, roast malt, light fruity, earthy. Palate: medium body, average carbonation, light bitter finish, light sticky. Taste: rich malty sweet with light bitter on end; caramel sweetness too. Overall, very drinkable, good balance for style, good beer.

Dark caramel color with an orange tone, thin tan bubbles. Bright aromas of caramel, honey, and some citrus, with a bit of cola as it warms. Very nice caramel and malty flavor, with just a bit of orange, pine and toasty bitterness. It’s full flavored with a medium mouthfeel and rather crisp carb. Yummy dunkel, avoiding the overly sweet nature of the style, balanced with some bright hops.

Much too sweet for my tastes. Caramel, some acidic fruit taste as well. Dark, smooth on the tongue. Tried at the Choice City Deli in 2013.

Beer poors deeps amber, hazy, and a small whit head. Rich malt aroma with hints of chocolate, noble hops, and little esters. Light sweet, minimal bitterness, and rich maltiness. Palate is creamy, medium body, lively carb, and pleasant finish. Overall very nice drinkable lager. Seems somewhat like a bock, but still very nice.
