The Count is yet another in our Fabled series. In the Fabled series we have taken our year round beers and made an Imperial version based on the antagonist of each beers corresponding story. The Count is a Russian Imperial Stout aged in Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrels for one year.

Roasty, boozy aroma. Pours a deep black color with a tan head. Flavor is also quite roasty and smokey with a touch of bourbon character. Notes: Denver Rare Beer Tasting ’15

(Flasche) Es sieht aus wie altes Motoröl. Es riecht erdig, röstig und schwer. Der Geschmack ist sehr sehr schwer, süß und röstig. Im Abgang ist es adstringent und alkoholisch

From bottle, sampled @Papsoe’s. Entirely black body. A ring of dark choco colored bubbles on the surface. Intense aroma of rounded darkand warming malts and wood. Notes of alcohol, tar and coffe ground. Big body. Syrupy mouthfeel. Lots of "black" flavors. Licorice, tar, black coffe and heavy roast. Some residual sugars and a certain acidity underneath. Powerfull and very tasty.

21/07 RBESG Grand Tasting, 0.75 l bottle. It poured very dark brown body with small brown head. Very nice aroma of coffee, raisins, caramel, wood and chocolate. Flavor was a bit bitter, coffee, licorice, some chocolate, ash, oak wood... Medium bodied considering the style and ABV, with lot of carbonation. Finish was very nice, sweetish and a bit sour coffee, slightly warming. Although not exquisite, it surely was a very nice stout.

RBESG 2012 GT. Ahh, the Cunt :). Poured a black body with a dark brown head. Sweet spicy aroma, black raisins and vanilla. The taste is mostly raisins again, quite oaky, the barrel dominating everything. Is this note really supposed to say "soup"? And to quote my notes, "<3 Thx Aaron for sharing your Cunt <3"

Dark black, no head. Bourbon, alcohol, alcohol and concentrated fruit. Surprisingly bitter, lively carbonation, a good base sweetness. Excellent story to this beer... or what we made of it. :)
