Schroppfy (1729), Ohio, USA Jul 24, 2002 Unusual aroma for a wit; really sweet -- honey as Bov says. Only a touch of the other usual spices in the aroma. But the flavor is different. Upon a super-light body (among the lightest, fluffiest wits I’ve had) rests a spicy, peppery finishing delight. Great! Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 29, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) Pale golden with a slight cloudiness and a huge, almost chemically white head. Archetypical Belgian Witbier. Spicy and perfumy (coriander and orange peel) and almost no bitterness. Extremely quenching. 170302 lgklotet (396), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 30, 2006 Bottle (25 cl) at Duvel Cafe Sthlm. Expiry date 2003... Sampled in late 2006, guess that made it at least 3-6 years old.. Huge flaky yeast chunks floating around. The aroma was really incredible.. tea, peaches atop the typical wit-profile.. What really amazed me were the tea-notes that I’ve never found in other wits. The palate is rich (for a wit) and dry. Incredible, guess I must start storing my other wits beyond their expiry date.. Rutzicka (102), Switzerland Oct 22, 2001 The colour is yellow, almost transparent with a creamy head. The aroma is rather discreet, fresh with a touch of cork. The flavour is fresh, subtile and slightly bitter. The finish is not very long. A light classic wit. sayravai (3047), Helsinki, Finland Jul 28, 2005 (Bottled) Very hazy yellow-orange color with a mesium, firm head. Quite spicy, fruity, sourish and pleasantly dry aroma. Dryish and slightly sour, wheaty flavor. Reasonably crisp and refreshing palate with quite high carbonation. A very pleasant and well-balanced witbier.
