2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 madmitch76 (9845) - , Essex, - JUN 21, 201230th June 2010 Hazy dark red beer, pale pink head! Lagerish malt and fruit sweets for a nose. Light semi soft palate, semi dry too. Watery syrupy sweet red berry fruits with a touch of honey. I like sweet fruit beers but this is all over the place and artificial tasting.

0.25l bottle. This is a deep cloudy flour purple colored one with a small quickly islandy, bubbly and side sticking almost creamy head. It smells of faint fruits, but mainly plastic and soft sulfur. Not amazing at all. Oh, boy it’s sweet! Like drinking the stuff bartenders mix drinks with! Lots and lots of black currants mixed with blackberries. That in itself is not a bad combo in my book but it somehow does not work fantastic in this. In the finish it’s leaving a slightly sour lime acidity. That actually works somewhat against all the sticky sweetness in this. It tastes just a bit to weird to be good, but behind all the off-flavors there is an interesting fruitiness with wild berries. 11.03.2013
1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 OleR (4247) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 4, 2013
0.25 L bottle, picked up@Ølhandleriet, Oslo. A foggy ruby-red body, under a finger of red-shaded blond head. Smell of raspberry bon-bon dissolved in carbonated water. Hint of almonds. Taste is much the same, but a certain fruity acitity ensure that the beer is not totally undrinkable. Hops no option, neither malts. What to say? Soda Pop!
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 shoulderbroken (1144) - Tokyo, JAPAN - NOV 6, 2012
Bottle from a friend. Thanks Kosuke! Rich red colour with pink bubbly head. Aroma is forest fruits unsurprisingly. Blackberry and raspberry. Not a bad smell, but there seems to be something lingering in the background. Maybe even something meaty (!). Taste is immediately sweet and syrupy fruitiness. Maybe a bit of cardboard in there too. It’s not horrible, but that meaty weirdness is there again. Maybe it’s just me, but it is a bit off-putting. Medium carbonation makes it fell a bit better than it probably should, hiding some of the weirdness. All in all, not that interesting, and a bit strange.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20 Foffern (728) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 7, 2012
On tap at Moeder Lambic, Brussels. The colour is hazy deep red with a small light pink head. Lots of berries and fruits in the aroma along with lemonade, raspberries, bubble gum and vinegums. The flavours is very sweet like melted raspberry candy or raspberry soda. Soft mouthfeel and not even a bit bitter. A very sweet beer with an okay aroma but the taste is in my opinion way to sweet and sticky.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Svesse (5195) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 9, 2012
(Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 22 July 2012) Red colour with fluffy, pink head. Fruity nose with notes of red berries, mainly raspberries. Fruity taste with red berries (raspberries, cherries), a touch of vanilla and a light tartness in the finish. Light body, with a certain sweetness. Decent, quite refreshing on a sunny summer day.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jackl (2513) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2012
Draft @ Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Pours an unnatural deep purple color with a small white head. The nose is big blackberry and raspberry jam. Some artificial pick ’n mix candy. Hints of mineral. The taste s surgarry jammy fruits, chalky mineral. Little else. Not complex, but perhaps worth a punt on a hot day OK.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 CanIHave4Beers (2495) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - JUN 26, 2012
On draught at Moeder Lambic (Fontainas), for some reason the Menu accredited this beer to St. Feuillien, odd... but whatever.
Pours a pinkish purple with a huge pink head that leaves lots of lacing on the glass.
Aroma is raw raspberry, lightly floral, and not overly sweet smelling.
The flavor is plenty tart and fruity, lots of raspberry, plenty of jammy sweetness. I like the Raspberry flavor but I’m not sure that he 25cl glass was finished by me, I think it was split between my wife and I... this seemed to get more cloying as it warmed. Started strong though.
