2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 stangger (571) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 20, 2011Bottle at the lake in nh. Aroma is a mix of fruit, caramel malt, light hops. Thin, watery body. Semi-sweet malty taste with no trace of hops. This style rarely does it for me and this was no exception.

On tap. Pours a dark copper color with an off-white head. Aroma is toasted biscuity malts, some caramel, and hints of hops. Taste is similar to the aroma. On the malty side, but it does have a nice spiciness in there as well, and some hops in the finish.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 hockeybeerguy (212) - Portland, Maine, USA - JAN 15, 2013
The appearance is a golden yellow/orange color with a semi-thick cream looking head that lasts about one minute. The beer has a light cloudiness and has a lacing that slides gently down the glass as it drinks. The smell is pretty malty with some light hops and some ever so light grains. The taste is slightly grainy with the malts coming back and brings in an ever so slight sweetness to it. The palate is medium yet balanced and smooth, and somewhat dry. Overall, this is a good beer that is very drinkable.

I’m staring to find all the beers by thins company a bit thin and just falling short of hitting that next tier of good beers. This one is thin, but not bad. Caramel malty and floral taste, You detect some fruit, but all their beers have just hints of these ingredients. I say be bold!

Bottle from Liz. Pours light golden amber with a slight white head. Light citrus and caramel aromas. Med body. Thickish feel, so maybe towards full. There’s some caramel, and some citrus, but not all that much, and it’s really only bitter enough to avoid being sweet. It doesn’t have that roasty APA malt, and it’s not bitter in my book. Kind of like some of those other beers from Shipyard - KBC and Seadog. Like they didn’t want to use a lot of ingredients to make a statement.
