3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Berley31 (230) - - JUN 9, 2009
On tap at brewpub. Poured with a small, off-white head that hung around for a while. Brownish-color and mostly clear with very low carbonation. Aroma has slight hops present. Taste is also hoppy, but a little more than I would have expected from the smell. Creamy and soft on the palate, with a medium-finish duration. A standard APA, but nothing special.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MadIndian (1901) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 8, 2012
I’m staring to find all the beers by thins company a bit thin and just falling short of hitting that next tier of good beers. This one is thin, but not bad. Caramel malty and floral taste, You detect some fruit, but all their beers have just hints of these ingredients. I say be bold!
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bhensonb (7592) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 16, 2012
Bottle from Liz. Pours light golden amber with a slight white head. Light citrus and caramel aromas. Med body. Thickish feel, so maybe towards full. There’s some caramel, and some citrus, but not all that much, and it’s really only bitter enough to avoid being sweet. It doesn’t have that roasty APA malt, and it’s not bitter in my book. Kind of like some of those other beers from Shipyard - KBC and Seadog. Like they didn’t want to use a lot of ingredients to make a statement.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 callmemickey (797) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 15, 2012
Reviewed from notes (2008).
A: Clear golden hue... fluffy white head... no lacing...
S: Butter... bread... hints of caramel...
T: A pleasant combination of a bready base with caramel highlights and a soft hop finish...
M: Smooth and oily but the flavors are crisp...
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 swiseman (317) - Fredericton, New Brunswick, CANADA - DEC 4, 2011
nothing too special about this one. tastes of malty caramel, light molasses and maybe some subdued hazelnut. body and mouthfeel are quite light for the style. finishes with a good balance of malt and hops.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Duhast500 (362) - Exile In Medford, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 11, 2011
Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a Sam Adams pint glass.
The color is a clear orange/gold with a finger of foamy white head and some slight lacing left on the glass.
The smell is a little bit fruity with some pale malt aroma running through out. There is the smallest bitterness there, giving a small preview of things to come.
The taste is malty at 1st. There is a light pale malt taste mixed with some fruit flavor that leads into a small orange flavor with a dry earthy bitterness.
The feel of this beer is medium bodied and goes down pretty easy. A beer that is rather light in alcohol is very drinkable as well.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 patrick767 (2843) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 10, 2011
listed as "pub pale" so hopefully this is the correct entry, tap at Portland location - This tap brew has an aroma of caramel malt and citrus hops. The flavor is similar and well balanced with a medium body. It won’t blow many people away, but it’s fairly good.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 phaleslu (3544) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - AUG 23, 2011
Draft in a sampler at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold color with a small white head that leaves some lace. Aroma of pale malts, grassy hops, wheat, cereal, and orange citrus. Flavor is pretty much the same but the hops and citrus pop more. Thankfully, or else this would be another dull Vacationland. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel.
2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 stangger (518) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 20, 2011
Bottle at the lake in nh. Aroma is a mix of fruit, caramel malt, light hops. Thin, watery body. Semi-sweet malty taste with no trace of hops. This style rarely does it for me and this was no exception.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours clear, dark golden with a thick, off-white head. Aroma of light caramel malts and some floral, slightly citrusy hops. Flavor pretty bland. A decent beer, but nothing special.
