A really tasty stout with good roasted malt notes a touch of hops and a hint of coffee and dark chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours mahogany-tinged black into an English pint. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving spotted sheets. Dark chocolate and resin aromas. Thin with sweet milk chocolate and sour espresso and licorice front to back. Lasting bitter resin finish..

22 oz. bottle now released to celebrate our 25th Birthday. I checked the Grittymcduff.com and this is the same brew named Strong Oatmeal Stout, same recipe. The nose is deep roasted barley, chocolate and ash. The flavor starts as it should, dry roasted malt with light notes of coffee and dark chocolate that leads to a light to moderate amounts of gentle bitterness which lingers just a tad. The deep roasted barley I really enjoy as a secondary flavor. Texture is on the dry side. Overall a nicely made oatmeal stout that is not overly sweet. Really easy for me to drink the bomber.

Draft in Portland, ME. Pours a black color with a creamy off white head. Nose is roasty with a light hint of malted milk balls. Palate is a bit chalky and creamy. Flavor is chalky malt notes with some light roast notes and a light bitter finish.

On tap in Gritty McDuffs, Portland. Great black appearacne with a good white frothy/ creamy head. Coffee, chocolate and roasted malt all in this well made beer. Possibly a little earthy but smooth and tasty. Great finish.

Got this at the Brewpub in Freeport. only available there. Black with off white nitro head. very similar to their black fly, but more concetrated. coffee dominates both flavor and aroma. some caramel. bitter finish. very good, but not that differant than the Black Fly Stout. same flavors, just more of them.
