Commercial Description:
VSA is an Extra Special golden ale that’s light in color but full-bodied, with a snappy hop finish. A bit of extra time in the conditioning tank rounds out and mellows the ale.

Smells like beer. Looks like beer. Good carbonation, nice frothy head. Tastes like...beer. Good, not special. Easy to drink. Nice lacing.

12 oz. bottle. Orange gold pour with fizzy looking white head. Bland aroma of malt. Taste of wood and slight sour taste, slight bitter bite. Nothing special about this beer.

12oz bottle-pours a tight foamy white head and gold color. Aroma is light malt, secondary herbal hops. Taste is light malt, secondary herbal/perfumy hops, slight lemon.

My first thought was that it was the blandest summer beer in the world. There is a lighter color to complement the almost nonexistent aroma. The label on the bottle is the only respectable thing about this beer.

Bottle. Poured with a fairly large, frothy white head, that diminished within a couple of minutes to a 1 cm size. Fair lacing in several spots on the glass. Clear body with a dark orange color. Aroma is of light yeast and doughy, with some butteriness as well. Light-bodied and thin-textured on the palate, with average carbonation. Average-lasting flavor of breadiness, again with some butter-taste to it... but it finishes lightly bitter. Overall, not a bad blonde that goes down easy during a hot day, even with the slight metallic bitterness at the end.

Oh, the life in Maine, especially Portland, where good beer and good times are abundant. Drink this brew just becasue its from a great vacation town and makes you feel good. A little too much wheat taste, but enjoyable.

Descent light golden color. Has some weird malty wheat smell. As if these ingredients in here were bought in an aluminum can. I really don’t care for the taste. It’s just missing something. I’ve had better from Gritty’s.

Pours gold into a shaker. Bright white head recedes to skim surface. Sweet caramel aromas. Astringent, bitter and sour hops. Not really a summer sipper.
