Very coppery taste. Not quite what I expected at all. I had this one out of the bottle, so maybe if I have it out of the tap it might be better. We’ll see.

Bottle- Pours an amber color with a nice head that fades slowly to lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel and not much else. Mild taste of roasted malt and caramel sweetness. There is a mild bitterness and a dry finish. medium body, some and creamy like texture. Nice balance. Nice amber that goes down easy. Good for a few.

Originally rated August 2004. Grolsch Amber Ale poured a dark amber colour, with a good lasting cream-foam off-white head. Lightly carbonated, it had great lacing. Aromas are mostly of sweet malt. Taste was slightly bitter with a smooth caramel finish. A pretty good session red ale.

It isn’t that bad, get it fresh because it is in a clear bottle. But the quality was surprising.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. Appearance: Clear amber color with a foamy, white head. Okay head retention. Aroma: Malty nose with hints of grain and caramel. A touch of euro lager. Flavor: Closely follows the nose with some decent back bitterness. Mostly malt and light caramel notes though. Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium-light mouthfeel and a medium, slightly bitter finish. Overall: There are better ambers out there.

Thin and light on flavor. The finish is long and dry. Not a great amber ale but drinkable. Flavor is predominantly caramel and water.

Simple dry dusty aroma. Sweet body, some caramel. Dry dusty hops in the taste. Sticky. Not so interesting. Finish dry and hoppy, and quite long.
