2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 caesar (3946) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAR 31, 2003
Clear yellow/orange color, small but lasting head. Aroma of hops. Extremely sweet, which was pretty good in the herfstbok, but pretty please not in this lentebok! It's more of a pilsener, with a lot of honey/toffee sweetness. Not good.
2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 skortila (4166) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - MAR 31, 2003
UPDATED: APR 7, 2003 Malty and hoppy aroma. Okay. Clear, light amber coloured, head stays. Very sweet and malty aroma. More bitter and sweet palate.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jerohen (1865) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - MAR 27, 2003
Clear orange coloured with small, rapidly disappearing head. Hoppy, pilsener like aroma. Strong flavour, sweet, hopbitter and syrupy. Long bitter finish. Drinkable, but not very special.

Nice colour, nice taste, nice and strong. Nothing special, but I’d give it another go.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20 thebaron99 (110) - Royston Park SA, AUSTRALIA - SEP 10, 2002
Aromas of cardboard and stale wine, thin head on thin, dark amber body. Grassy bitterness enhances the apparent alcohol, (typical Grolsche?!) Not at all what I expected and not at all like the only other Bock I’ve had which was delicious homebrew. At $4(Aus) for 330mls, I wouldn’t this buy again. Nice label, pity ’bout the beer.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 OlJuntan64 (1266) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - SEP 8, 2002
Faintly hazy amber under a small creamy white short lasting head. Very faint roasted malt and hop bitter aroma. Medium strong roasted malt and hoppy flavoured start. Body is quite thin which allows alcohol to show through easily in the middle and finish. Overall body and accompanying light sweet flavours appear insufficient to mask alcohol.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 omhper (17478) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 17, 2002
Pale amber coloured. Sweet and clean. Short flavour. Boring in comparison to other Dutch bock beers.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 bierkoning (8958) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - MAR 25, 2002
UPDATED: APR 27, 2003 The new beer of 2002. A bit fruity. Hopbitter taste and finish. Dryer than the years before.
Re-rate: 2003 vintage. new recipe: I had to lower the rate considerably. This beer had gained sweetness and has lost hopbitterness and, especially, character. Sweet flavor, sticky and not much more. Still OK to drink, though.
