Thoroughly unimpressive. A darker yellow color and very weak head. Reaked of rotting broccoli. If you don’t breathe in while drinking, its almost drinkable. Very much like tonic or club soda, and that oh so familiar skunked taste (like Heinekin). I hope this was just a bad bottle, and not how this is supposed to be.

This MUST have been skunked, otherwise this is the most vile beer I have ever had the misfortune of tasting. Strong brocolli odor, with a bitter, burnt, terrible taste. Skunked or not, the appearance wasn’t very nice either; no head with a slightly tinted, straw color.

Revisiting this beer after many years, I still loved the shape of the bottle but wasn’t all that keen on the contents. The rater who called this ’bitter club soda’ was sort of on the mark, I’m afraid. Drinkable but not much more. By the way, I checked F. Paul Pacult’s assessment in ’The Beer Essentials’ - a great book - and it seemed to be describing a different beer altogether; I simply don’t get the ’layers of intrigue and complexity’ he talks about. Maybe on draft...

Holland’s second popular beer: it sure tastes better than Heineken!

Not the best not the worst I’ve ever had. It is a good larger for beginners you still think the Pop tops are neat.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2003 The most famous skunky beer in the country, I think. I think Grolsch is okay, but not enough to buy it on a regular basis. Something I had regularly back in the day. Fizzy, hoppy, yellow, bitter and dry. That about sums it up.

Yikes! It almost hurt to buy this stuff. Then it tasted like crap. At leaset the bottles are cool-looking.
