I had this side-by-side with Carling Black Label lager (both from a cask) and, you know what?, they both suck. They were so very similar--just minute differences of sweetness and bitterness--I can’t understand how Grolsch can rate nearly a full point higher (by today’s scores). (on tap at Head of the River pub, Oxford)

Grolsch, maybe it was unrefrigerated for a long time at the market, because the pack I tried was pure skunk for me. Could even give they stuff away!! A bit too bitter, but so far Netherland beers haven’t done much for me, yet.

Very similar to Becks and Heineken. A little better than the aforementioned. Grassy and mildly bitter. In the bottle it’s skunky. Get the can version. It’s much better.

This is a decent beer. Reminds me alot of Becks. Fruity and clean, but nothing very special to set this beer apart, nothing you’d go out of your way to buy, and that, in my book is a loser.

Clean light gold lager. TYpical average ’high volume’ Euro lager. Unfortunately, a bit skunky due to it’s green packaging.

Good lager with a quite bitter palate. The bottle i funny and the beer is pretty spicey but not too much.

A very acceptible lager, a nice head and (thankfully) comes in rediculously large bottles (I managed to find a 1.5 Litre bottle of the stuff recently) Quite hoppy overall a pleasant experience.
