Poured hazy orange with good head.
Classic wiezen, with banana esters and citrus. Less carbonation than other brands, which is good Skidds (252), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jul 5, 2008 Poured a hazy orange with an impressive foamy white head which I had to sip before it overflowed. Bad pour on my part somehow? I found the aroma a little weak compared to other hefeweizens I have tried. Very small hints of banana and citrus. Flavour was the same. Tasted good, but I found it to be noticeably more watery and thin than most. The aftertaste was tingly and farily dry. Overall I was pleased, but zie Germans do it a lot better. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 4, 2008 Bottled. Not bad, fairly standard and hits most of the right notes. Vibrant carbonation, some banana in the nose, light pepper, lots of citrus. A bit of sweetness, metallic notes and lemon peel in the finish. Fairly average. I’m not sure I’d be able to guess this was a SABMiller product! HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jun 28, 2008 Bottle (500ml - brown swing-top). Pale hazy gold pour, average fizzy diminishing white head (3+ ... too wan to be a 4/5). Aroma - classic hefe, heavy banana ester and floral hops - heavy sweet malt. Taste- same, very malty, a little thin. Soft, lightly carbonated mouthfeel, malty, with a sweet fruity linger. Like it, didn’t love it - ultimately a little too thin.
