A very malty beer. Still quite crisp and clean and with a low but delicate hopflavour. Not too bad.

bierkoning (10100) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - SEP 10, 2007
Bottle from MiP. Way too dark to be called a pilsener, brown color. Malt and butter in the somewhat mineral aroma. Malty sweet flavor with a touch of citrus, hints of butter and toffee. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Buttery toffee aftertaste with a touch of flowery hops.

Draught, from a mini keg served at the table. Deep amber with a small, short-lasting white head. Toasty flavor slightly on the sweet side - delightful darker "pils".

(bottle, with thanks to Jevers Zeuge @ biertest-online.de) Clear amber colour with a stable and foamy off-white medium head. Sweet malty, slightly toasted aroma with shy notes of hops. Soft sweet malty flavour, light to medium body, crispy mouthfeel; sweet malty finish with very shy notes of hops. This one lacks obviously some balancing hoppiness; fairly average brew.

Bottle. Mildly hoppy, sweetish aroma with pale malts. Amber colored with a short lacing white head. Crisp bite with notes of caramel, flowers, herbs, and a sweet bready malts. Bitterness is faint and constrained to the hoppy aftertaste. Smooth, creamy middle. Unusual.

mds (2205) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 2, 2006
Draught. Served very cold. The body is orange-copper with a small, short-lasting white head. The aroma has mostly pale grain malts, toast, and nutty caramel. Soft body - moderate carbonation and slightly abbrasive bitterness. Toasty flavours among some sweetish grain - actually pretty decent overall. Refreshing. Tried this at the brewpub in Hamburg on May 24, 2006.

kook (2033) - Perth, Western Australia, AUSTRALIA - MAY 31, 2006
Draught at the brewpub: Amber in colour with a short lasting large white head. Very balanced clean malt profile with a pleasantly bitter finish. Full bodied pils that I could drink all day.

Gazza (726) - Worcester, Worcestershire, ENGLAND - APR 17, 2006
Draught in brewpub. Deep amber Vienna-style beer. Quite thin malty taste, some dryness, toffee undertones. A hint of phenol in the bland toffee finish. Poor.

Amber coloured. Thick white head. Malty, grassy slight spicy nose. Refreshing, somewhat hoppy flavour with a little acidity. Low bitterness in finish.

MiP (13573) - Sřnderborg, DENMARK - SEP 26, 2005
Draught. Hazy dark copper colour. Tight, creamy white head. Low carbonation. Watery flavour. Aftertaste is very mild and boring. Not bitter. Not a pils.
