2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pils? Not quite, but a decent beer anyway. Slightly sulfury nose lost a few point with me. Generally a fresh smelling and tasting beer. Deep cloudy amber color. Gritty finish. Overall tasty but not really balanced. Unbelievable atmosphere in the Braukeller. You know you are in Europe/Germany as soon as you walk into the 250 year-old establishment. It’s the kind of experience Disney couldn’t make with a million dollars.

Draught, from a mini keg served at the table. Deep amber with a small, short-lasting white head. Toasty flavor slightly on the sweet side - delightful darker "pils".

0.33L bottle. Coarse grey-shaded blond head. Deep gold to amber colored body. Fat aroma of malt drops. Notes of grassy hops. Full malt flavor. Nutty, light sweet and toasted with a nice sourish touch. Moderately hopped. Light to medium body strenght. Slick mouthfeel. Malty finish.

0,33 l bottle. A light amber in the glass with a huge head. Low dry malt on the nose. Roast malty with hints of citrus. Low herb, dusty. Typical standard Vienna Lager. Don´t know why they call it Pils.

Thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that one! Bottle looks simple but okay. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Malty aroma. Starts quite malty, spicy, wheaty, light moldy-sourish. Notes of some fruits. Finish could be more balanced. Okay.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
From a 330ml bottle in Hamburg. This is not a pilsner despite the labelling - it is more like a Vienna lager with toasty sweet caramel malts and light citrus hops on the nose and tongue. Mild dry finish. Medium bodied. Dark amber appearance with a mostly lasting foamy off-white head. OK.

Bottled. Thanks Yogi_Beera!! Amber colour. Aroma of "Fünf Kräuter" (herbal, medicinal). Sweet, medium bodied and mild with low bitterness. About as far from a pils as you can make a lager. Odd, but quite pleasant.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Mildly hoppy, sweetish aroma with pale malts. Amber colored with a short lacing white head. Crisp bite with notes of caramel, flowers, herbs, and a sweet bready malts. Bitterness is faint and constrained to the hoppy aftertaste. Smooth, creamy middle. Unusual.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A very malty beer. Still quite crisp and clean and with a low but delicate hopflavour. Not too bad.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
11th Dec 2014, 0.4 litre on tap at it’s source, the Groninger Braukeller, Hamburg. Poured a misty amber golden colour with a white head that gave off some good lacing. Aroma came across as malty and grainy and semi-sweet in nature. The taste followed the same lines with a light sweet lead with a mini caramel feel.
