Pours a dark cherry chocolate brown color with a 2.5 finger foamy tan head with good retention that slowly fades into a lasting cap. Spotty chunks of soapy lacing.
Spicy peppery aroma with hints of roasted chocolate malt and dark fruit. Raisin, plum and fig stand out. Slight alcohol presence.
Spicy and hoppy up front with a lot of zesty peppery notes which are quickly countered by silky chocolate maltiness with hints of licorice and slightly tart dark fruit(mostly plum, raisin, grape and fig). Slightly creamy body with sweet estery notes balancing out the smooth maltiness. Slightly dry finish.

Bottle at Chancey Smith’s- A deep and clouded muddy brown with a frothy beige cap that laces well. Nose of yeasty funk, candy sugar, caramel, spices and floral notes. Tastes sweet, but with a funky yeasty twang. Prune and caramel with an almost sour yeast presence meets floral hoppiness, with an oaked aspect. Creamy, funky and sweet finish with good lingering aftertaste. Very good! Thanks Milos!

On keg and on bottle. Beer is from Celis. Nice belgian style with a lot of added sugars. Though still a quite complex brew.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Gr0ve (1763) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 3, 2009
750 ml bottle. Dark copper. Crystal clear. High carbonation level. Medium-sized white head that clings to the glass. Sharp spicy Belgian yeast aroma with hazelnuts and black pepper. Dry and bitter peppery flavours. Sparkling mouthfeel, but with a mellow and rich malty background. The balance is wonderful. An excellent beer. Complex and refreshing.

Hazy grayish brown beer with a beige head. Sour and malty aroma and taste. You can definitely recognize this one as a Belgian even if you didn’t know it already.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 kenb (1102) - Oregon, USA - SEP 19, 2009
750ml bottle via Hagen. Pours a hazy brown with a massive beige head. Nose is mildly sour and earthy. Taste starts with some sourness, then some berries, some biscuitiness, ALLSPICE, and a bit of a DRY graininess in the finish. Body is light/medium, carbonation is high. Would be much better with less carbonation covering all the flavors ( i just nitro-d it and easily discovered this).
