Body-dark honey with a quarter inch foamy head. Nose-candi sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, bready, light metal. Taste-light perfume, bready like a sourdough starter, light sweetens, sour on the back end, the unsweet portion of caramel, mostly dry, lightly woody, astringent on the tip of my tongue, some white spices, sharp and almost stinging (but not too much) CO2, light banana, creamy mouthfeel. A very subdued drinkable beer. I like the way the spices play out. DownsouthGav (602), Greater London, England
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 28, 2007 Bottle at Microbar, Clapham. Dry fruits and dates detected in the nose. Murky red and brown. Small head. Sprinkle of small carbonated ribbons. Soft mouth feel. Vinegar, sweet alcohol. Not bad a bit on astringent and chalky. One of the best looking beers out there but taste doesn’t quite match the looks. redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 15, 2007 Bottle. Poured dark bronze. Took a while to tell that given it’s nearly entirely head. Foamy, but quick dissipating. Good lacing. Yeasty aroma with sour citrusy notes. Taste is more of same. This tastes like it will get old quickly (like, by the end of the bottle), but it is interesting. Ughsmash (3999), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 7, 2007 Bottled, at least a few years old. Poured clear, deep garnet with a delightful creamy cap of beige head that stayed ’til the end. The aroma picked up a nice, dry, spicy yeast strain with some white pepper, light fruits, and some piney notes.. soft, a touch sour, and very well-composed. The flavor didn’t dissapoint.. chocolate and aged caramel at the mildly sour core with darker fruit skins, pepper, and crusty bread riding the edges.. mild fruity bitterness. Just shy of medium-bodied with a nice sweet/sour contrast throughout.. dry and refreshing on the palate. Great beer! bp (455), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 29, 2007 25/10 0.33 l bottle at Hopdevil. Poured dark reddish brown colored body with big brownish head. Aroma is a sourish with caramel and fruity, primarily orange, then also some dark tropical fruits. Flavor is better, quite full and fruity as well. Chocolate felt inside, caramel also. Aftertaste is short, sweetish, very pleasant with oily texture both in the glass and on palate. Very nice beer, thanks Petra for choosing this one as well.
