Pours a dark, clear ruby with a nice tan head. Nose is sugary sweet and yeasty with a pungent tone to it overall. Flavor is smooth, woody and sweet. Low yeast flavor, but an underlying sweet tone that hits the tip of your tongue and never comes on strong at all. Wood-like aftertaste. Feel is a perfect balance of carbonation and use of ingredients. Overall a damn good brew. Even and well balanced and one I would constantly go back to time and time again.

Bottle, with Fin, Loz and Traci. Hazel brown, a bit of white head. Brown sugar aroma, a nice dose of overripe banana (usually not a fan of that smell in beer, but it’s done with a gentle touch here) tart cherries, milkshake, banilla. Bright fruit flavor, pepper, very spicy and bright, but some accompanying chocolate notes. A bit of round sourness. Thanks Fin!

Copper-red / brown colour, Large off-white head. Aroma is of sweet fruits and spices. Taste is of sweet malts and dried fruits, but is not very complex. However, pleasant to drink.

Purchased 750 ml from Holiday Wine cellar. The beer poured as a medium shade of brown with a huge eruption of foam overflowing from the glass. Has a fully delivery for an aroma that is decked with a large spice and yeast profile. A nice strong flavor of malt in balance with spice and true Belgian spice makes this worth the price in the end.

muddy brown, fine tan, head, enough carbonation to push the cork out while sitting on the table, spicy malt aroma, rich malt flavor, earthy moldy aftertaste, well carbonated, good, but not enough complexity,

Score: ii to iii

solid brown, frothy tan head, musky malt aroma, slightly thin body, fruity malt flavor, touch of sweetness, nice complexity but the thin body still leaves you wanting more, the musky cave aged character keeps getting stronger and really defines this beer, although lacking as a dark Belgian, it has enough of it’s own character to make it worthwhile

still not quite the depth of the draft version, but does grow on you like mold in a dark dank cave

Aroma: 5/10; Appearance: 6/10; Flavor: 7/10; Palate: 5/10; Overall: 16/20

Score: **4

Flaske. Rigtig lækker dubbel. Meget drikbar men desværre mangler den en smule dybde, som evt. kunne være opnået med en lidt større alkoholmængde, men en super crossover øl.

6/30/07 On draught at the Seattle International Beerfest. Aroma is an interesting blend of apricot, caramel and sweet malt. Appearance is copper with an off-white head with good retention. Flavor is sweet malt forward with light caramel and dried fruit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a low carb feel. Overall a very easy drinking sweet brew.

Bottle shared with Casey, Loz, Traci in a Belgian beer tasting night Warm amber in colour, with sourish nose ’some spice’? Tasred initially a tiny bit sour but sweet malty flavours coursed through, this reminded me of an ice lolly I had as a kid ’some sort of cider apple lolly as I recall’ Not that it particularly tasted of cider apples but then again nor did the lolly, but there were definate similarities a soft brown sugar finish with some dryness and I really rather enjoyed this suprise package.
