Bottle, not sure how old, but doubtful that it’s fresh based on the fact that it was the last bottle of it on a shelf of beers that clearly sees little action. Aroma has lots of stuff going on, including mint, bubblegum watermelon, lemon, dark malt, spice, and earth, all with a sort of Jolly Rancher feel to things, though the feel was not associated with any particular fruit. Though for me it wasn’t the highlight of the aroma, the spiciness really comes to the forefront in the mouth on a mellow malty background with candy sugar and sweetish fruit notes popping up more toward the finish, most notably cherry, along with more of the spiciness. A lighter Dubbel, and quite an interesting one, more complex than I have done it justice.

33 cl bottle. A murky brown beer. The head is medium-sized and it has durable lace. The aroma is sweet, fruity and yeasty. Banana, bubblegum candi sugar and spicy yeastiness. Spices come up more in the finish: licorice, some aniseed and definately coriander. Lingering and almost woody finish with complex yeasty notes. The flavor begins sweetish but turns dry and slightly woody in the finish. Alcohol gives warmth. Medium bodied palate is a bit too carbonated. Sicky and dry finish. Overall a delicate and coplex dubbel.

Expired in 05/2008 and I’m tasting it right now. Beautiful aroma, dark coloured appearance with a small white head. Very complex aroma and flavour. But lacks some body. Very good beer, never drank a fresh one. This is great stuff. (Bottle 33cl)

Chestnut brown beer with big beige head. Aroma is great and complex: malty sweetness, spicyness, anise, red currants, yeast. Flavour is also complex and nice, slightly sweet that turns in dryer in the end and spicies comes more cleary tastable. Quite easy to drink and carbonation is quite high. Slightly like Regal Christmal, very high quality and typical elements is found from this dubbel.

330 ml bottle, 6,7%. Clear brown color, airy off-white head. Spicy aroma with alcohol. Fruity flavor with some medicinal alcohol. Medium-full body, very high carbonation, sharp mouthfeel. Gets better as it warms up, but it never got particularly good.
