Aroma: sharp apples, slight carbon, some earth and a hint of caramel. Appearance: dark brown with red highlights, very murky. Large tan head that poures with larger bubbles then settles quite hard, leaves sheet lacing. Flavour: hoppy bitter with some earthen notes then lots of caramel and some malty/grainy notes. Palate: medium to thick mouthfeel and a lingering bitterness.

A fully lasting large creamy tan head tops up a hazy medium brown body. Moderate lacing. No particles. Few small bubbles. Aroma presents malt being light caramel with nuts overtone. Hops are light lemon / lime ... Yeast character is moderate dough. Also, there are evident evocations of plum prune and faint notes of spices and red fruits. Initial flavor is medium sweet (caramel) while development presents spices and cherry. Finish is medium . medium body... oily texture... Lively carbonation... warming alcohol, smooth tartness.

(Rating #453)

I think this beer is a perfect way for a novice to get aquainted with Beligium, and for the experieced to be refreshed. Gorgeous Mahogany brown color. Nice tan fluffy head that chases the beer down the side of the chalice. Very carbonated, so much that I think it may overwhelm some of the sublties of flavour. All-in-all I enjoyed this beer and hop to have it again. Very nice with food, especially something that may have a little greasiness to it.

on tap at sharpedge. Looks of a deep nutty red and has a minimal head. Aroma is very spicey and a bit of sour yeast. Flavor has a lot more sweetness to it...a bit of bread...but the that tad bit of sourness actually dominates most of the other flavors. Mouthfeel is very full and balanced. I actually think this beer is incredibly well balanced...even though it doesn’t have tons to work with.

Bottle. Chestnut thin beige head. Yeasty, spicey. Caramel and yeast in mouth with a lemony finish which is odd for a beer of this colour. Toasty toffee aroma. Some hop. Full in mouth. Excellent malt in mouth with hop/yeast finish. Good beer.
