Sahlholdt (276), Copenhagen, Denmark May 1, 2005 Dark amber/brown with disapearing white head. Aroma has notes of yeast and hints of anis. Very soft and smooth with initially sweetness and spicy bitterness aftertaste. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 29, 2005 Bottle, Smokeless Joe’s. This brewery continues to impress. Dark brown pour, bubby tan head. Strong spicy malt aroma. Very nice strong malt taste, tastes much stronger than the 6.5%. I got a very interesting strong cinnamon taste at first, it may be another spice though. Maybe a little too carbonated and bubbly, but that is my only complaint. A very well made beer. tbookman (618), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 28, 2005 Medium brown color - cloudy with a thick lacy head. Aroma of spices and roasted nuts. Flavor is malty and a bit fruity. Has kind of a sharp finish when the alcohol takes charge. A little acidic. It’s decent, but didn’t really grab me. jaymobrown (1343), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 25, 2005 As I was unwrapping the metal cap the cork just exploded out of the bottle and flew across the room. Foam started to pour out -- a off-brown, hugh foam. Poured a nice oak color. Sweet, juicy, chewy, bread, cookie flavor. Yeast nose. Medium finish. Nice. ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark Apr 24, 2005 Hazy brown colour with a fairly thin off white head. Sweet yeasty aroma with some plum and figs. Yeasty flavor with hints of dark fruit. JensenTaster (1585), Denmark Apr 20, 2005 (on 33cl bottle) Looksgreat; hazy light brown and has perfect carbonation. But there´s something really odd about both sent and taste. It is authentic belgic in the esters, but a strange aroma of wet cardboard really makes it unplesant. The also suffers from it, like really old dust; not hops anyway. Great concept anyhow. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Apr 10, 2005 Big light head. Golden honey copper colour. Baking soda aroma. Very light body. Light airy flavour with with dry finish. Good accompaniment but on its own the flavour is rather muted. SoLan (1369), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 4, 2005 Brown. Big creamy off white head. Dried fruit, sweet malt, and musk. Smell that cave action. Same in the taste though less dried dark fruits and some nuttiness. Smooth, full body. I wasn’t expecting to smell or taste the cave. Description of "unique" is spot on. Very good brew.
