Dark amber beer with an orange gleam. Tall and foamy off-white head. Malt is dominating in the aroma along with spices and tones of flowers and cheese. Flavor of malt, hops, fruit, citrus, oranges, nut and a touch of alcohol. Sharp taste and a foamy mouthfull. Nice!

Bottle, Smokeless Joe’s. This brewery continues to impress. Dark brown pour, bubby tan head. Strong spicy malt aroma. Very nice strong malt taste, tastes much stronger than the 6.5%. I got a very interesting strong cinnamon taste at first, it may be another spice though. Maybe a little too carbonated and bubbly, but that is my only complaint. A very well made beer.

Bottle: #500 - Rather fruity aroma of apple and raisin. Pours and orangish-brown with a white head. Fruity flavors with apple and a light sourness in the finish. Has a Unibroue taste to it.

Pours to a dark rusty orange body with a lively off-white head. Nice lacing. The aroma is dusty, Belgian yeasts, bananas, brown malts, seems to have some smoked malt. The flavor is very yeasty with malts and bananas. Bready doughs. The palate is extremely effervescent. Carbonation all over the place. Surprising.

Smells okay, looks nice. Taste is just okay, not overall spicy, and not amazing in flavor. Kind of an average doulbe to me.

Smells and tastes like a fruit cake with about the same amount of complex flavors: nutmeg, cinnamon and raisins atop a this malty body. Heavy texture and a big taste. This has a nice warming effect. RERATE: Gave more points to the nose and overall

25 oz bottle, Stateline Liquors. Pours a clear medium brown colored body under a thinnish large bubbled foamy light brown head. Some nice lacing remained. Aroma is quite malty with a hefty dose of belgian yeast. Lots of dark fruits with some toffee and nuttiness. Flavor is very fruity but not especially sweet, more of a nutty malt aspect. The yeast along with some alcohol rounds out the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a moderate fizzy level of carbonation. Texture is slightly syrupy but gets creamier on the finish. Overall, a real nice Dubbel, but it needed a little more malt and more complexity in the flavor.

Hazy amber-brown with a small tan head. Malty and yeasty aroma. Decent body, and mild but pleasant flavour of dark dried fruit and brown sugar. Decent, but not breathtaking.
