Bottled 33cl (BB 12/2006)
Hazy dark nutbrown, good brown head. Strong sticky aroma of licorice, anise, yeast and hops. Earthy tones too. Soft malty palate. Warming flavor with licorice, raisins and plums. Oily aftertaste which brings some hops. Mouthfeel itself is quite thin, but otherwise enjoyable brew.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 argo0 (9034) - Washington DC, USA - APR 6, 2003
Big tan head topping a cloudy red-brown body filled with floaties. Aroma is very fruity -- fig, plum, apple, and some orange. Taste is much the same, along with some yeastiness. Some tartness shows up in the swallow. Medium-light body, quite drinkable. Very pleasant beer.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 yngwie (8717) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 9, 2007
UPDATED: SEP 1, 2009 Bottle, 75cl corked. Poured unclear, golden-red to orange, with a nice beige head. Quite sweet nose with dried fruits and some alcohol. Sweet and malty flavor with caramel, hops and spices. Quite fizzy, full body. Quite lovely creation. Next time I buy a bottle, I will certainly cellar it, guess there’s potential for lagering it. Rating: 7-4-7-4-16-3.8. 070430
Bottle, 75cl. It’s a hazy, orange-brown beer with a small, off-white head. Dried fruits, sweetness, alcohol, malts, cellar notes and a light hint of oxidation in the aroma. The flavor has caramel, dried fruits, sweetness, some alcohol and a herbal bitterness. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. The finish is much like the initial flavor, but on the bitter side. A really nice Belgian. 090710

Bottle (750 ml) at work. Unclear red/brown - offwhite head. Aroma: Fruiyyeasty, light flowery. Taste: Fruity, yeasty, berries, caramel, brown sugar, sweetness, dark bread. It is a typical belgian dubbel, but just a bit too plain and simple - it needs some complexity !!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 thewolf (8245) - Kolding, DENMARK - FEB 3, 2006
A nice thickness. The taste enhances as the beer gets warmer. Not that brown in volour, but with a white-brownish head that disappears quickly. A nice taste at first that is slightly old, quite fruity... the aftertaste somewhat hoppier and dry.
