Purchased 750 ml from Holiday Wine cellar. The beer poured as a medium shade of brown with a huge eruption of foam overflowing from the glass. Has a fully delivery for an aroma that is decked with a large spice and yeast profile. A nice strong flavor of malt in balance with spice and true Belgian spice makes this worth the price in the end.

Looks like a lightly carbonated cherry cider, murky with red highlights. Thin firm head. Perfume and minerals, marshmellow and mold, yeast and earth, prune and caramel. Nice aroma. Lighter on the palate and spritzier than other Dubbels I’ve had. Fruity, yeasty flavors with date and spices. Slightly dirty and mildly bitter finish. Pretty good.

0.25l bottle, from the big Grottenbier tulip at the Hopdevil in Zagreb
Poured s nice (very) dark red, almost black. Medium to small beige creamy head. The nose is damn strong and assertive. Grapes, raisins, alcohol, baker’s yeast. Quite vinuous, but not exactly pleasant. The taste is nice, sweet. Quite malty, yeasty, notes of gummi bears. Trace hints of hops. Smooth, and the taste isn’t all that full. Almost stale grape aftertaste. Very good, but not all that spectacular.

Thanks to Hatchy. Pours a ruby red amber with a large off white foamy head with small floaties. Aroma of belgian yeast, candied sugar, some oranges, caramel and a little musty. Flavors of the same with some roasted malts and various other spices.

Nice red-brown color with very creamy beige foam. Round nose of nuts, malts, spices, some honey and dry fruit. In the mouth a good malty attack with touches of nuts, spices and caramel. Great smooth afthertaste.

Pours to a dark rusty orange body with a lively off-white head. Nice lacing. The aroma is dusty, Belgian yeasts, bananas, brown malts, seems to have some smoked malt. The flavor is very yeasty with malts and bananas. Bready doughs. The palate is extremely effervescent. Carbonation all over the place. Surprising.

Bottle. Chestnut thin beige head. Yeasty, spicey. Caramel and yeast in mouth with a lemony finish which is odd for a beer of this colour. Toasty toffee aroma. Some hop. Full in mouth. Excellent malt in mouth with hop/yeast finish. Good beer.

Bottle. Brown with thin white head. Spicy aroma with dried fruit. Flavour is a little sweet (brown sugar) and malty, spicy, with yeasty notes. Perhaps a little thin.
