Grovlam (3086), Copenhagen, Denmark Nov 16, 2006 Bottle. Colour is very unclear and brown. Head is very big and impressive off-white. Some lacing can be found on the glass. Aroma is yeast, malt/caramel, some roasted candies, maybe even some spicy notes as coriander. Also thought there was some soup like aroma blending in there. Slight watery texture could be observed in the beginning, but after reaching the correct temperature, the beer developed into a thicker mouth feel. Medium bodied. Flavour is light to medium bitter-sweet. Reasonably balanced beer.
crazyvin (1078), New York, USA Sep 3, 2008 decent, but mediocre dubbel. Poured a nice brown hue with a tan head that had good retention and some lacing. Aroma was malty mostly fruity but some yeasty notes. Flavor was also rich in malts, fruitiness mostly and a hint of sugary notes, a bread like finish. Hops were slightly bitter. Carbonation was minimal. Chrism86 (58), Melbourne, Australia Aug 29, 2008 Pours a dull, deep ruby tending to auburn with a substantial but rather loosely packed off white head. Aromas are dominated by honey and caramel with obvious banana and hinting raisins. Palate seems alot more reserved. Caramel/toffee seem to accompany sweet malt with yeasty banana characters coming through. Finish is rather malty with subtleties of liquered raisins. Ober (299), Best, Netherlands Aug 20, 2008 A hazy red/brown colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. It leaves a nice lace on the glass. he aroma a dark fruits, sweets and caramel malts. the taste is a little spicey, fruits, a little cherry and prune. Very little aftertaste. french tickler (490), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Aug 17, 2008 Shared with Pyrozoid - Drank @ l’autre oeil
