Commercial Description:
Grottenbier Flemish Ale is a unique ale produced by one of the great Flanders breweries. Pale golden in color with a white, dense foam and a flavor that is soft, creamy and slightly herbal. Aging will reveal new layers of flavor, but Grottenbier Flemish Ale is eminently drinkable anytime! A unique Belgian classic from the mind of Pierre Celis.

Sampled this as Grotten Flemmish Ale. A hazy yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of lemon, and a slight acidity. The flavor is sweet malty again combined with an acidic note. A quite simple beer. Had expected more, since I really enjoy the brown version.

(Bottle 75 cl) Comes as "Grotten Flemish Ale - Pierre Celis Signature Collection" - no less! Pours a hazy golden with an off-white head. Aroma of yeast and sweetish malt. Quite full-bodied with some alcohol presence and a surprisingly solid bitterness that holds all the way through. 200506

75 cL bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a lacing white head. Dry yeasty and slight spiced with a mild dry wooden note. Dry wooden and yeasty with a nice mild brettish accent. Caramelish and slight yeasty with a lasting dry finish. Smooth and mellow with a dry accent.

(750ml bottle) Large white head atop lightly hazed straw body, nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, bread, lemon. Taste is medium sweet, candi sugar, some fruit, Belgian yeast, light herbal. Light-medium body, some effervescence, alcohol well masked.
