3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I had a couple 4oz sample of this beer at the 2012 Frederick Beer Festival; the brewer said it was made for the event and was experimental. The beer had a semi-cloudy amber-copper color with a good-sized foamy white head with average cling and lacing, but good retention. Its aroma featured strong notes of sugar and candy, but also had touches of caramel, malt, and yeast. The taste was sweet and sugary, with touches of candy and caramel malt, and only the slightest bitterness. The beer was just a touch creamy with low-to-average carbonation, a full body, and a smooth mouthfeel. It was officially listed as a "quintuple."
