Part of our Grumpy Troll challenge brews. This winning recipe is from Marta and Rob. It’s a deep dark ale brewed with the finest malts, cascade hops, orange peel and ginger.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Grumpy Troll 11/18, pours a very dark brownish red with a creamy tan head, the aroma has a decent amount of spices and fruit, pretty wierd but I dig it, the flavor has a nice amount of hops in the finish but has a front of malt and a hint of spices, this one is pretty interesting and nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Opaque brown black body. Creamy beige head. A pretty solid Black IPA, the orange peel and ginger meld right in. The ginger comes out more as it warms/approaches room temperature. Really complements the brown sugary chocolate tones. Medium to full bodied. Not World Class stuff, but very enjoyable.
