Hazy tan color. Pleasant fruity aroma. Big, sweet body. Lots of honey and fruit nuances. Strong but not overbearing. Some mead-like qualities. Quite nice.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours dark gold to light amber with a very thin head. Caramel aroma with just a wisp of clove. Flavor starts off with sweet caramel and then explodes into a fruit basket: pear, citrus, strawberry, becoming dry with some hops bitterness towards the finish. Warm, spicy, and lively on the palate. Reminiscent of Orval fresh enough that the Bret hasnít taken over yet. Very nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draught at the Grumpy Troll Brewpub in downtown Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy golden pale colored brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of honey, banana esters, some golden grain malt and a touch of clove. Taste is quite sweet, minimal carbonation with flavors of candi sugar, bananas, apple and a hint of raisin. Finish is semi-sweet, some alcohol bite with aftertaste flavors of banana, apple and some candi sugar. So far my favorite of the Belgian Challenge Series.
